“Changing the weight and material and rethinking the way objects exist in space and relate to bodies, for instance, are processes that reveal new facets of the objects themselves and of those willing to engage with them. This is the ‘do’ of Nazareth in these works. A heavy bench. A baton and a pair of golden bachi. A shime taiko drum made of brass, Corian, and crystal. A tennis racket with a crystal net, featuring a hole in the center. A basketball hoop far from the court. A set of dodecahedron-shaped balls and bowling pins. A pair of crossed spoons holding two eggs. A copper and crystal hula hoop. These objects were reestablished in space and selected by the artist because their forms strongly suggest very directed, very specific uses, forcing adherence to a kind of well-parameterized, questionably consensual manual, demanding a highly deliberate practice of use.” – Galciani Neves - “Cambiar el peso y el material y repensar la manera en que los objetos ocurren en el espacio y se disponen a los cuerpos, por ejemplo, son procedimientos que revelan otras caras de los propios objetos y de quienes se disponen a usarlos. Ahí está el ‘haz’ de Nazareth en estos trabajos. Un banco pesado. Un bastón y un par de bachi dorados. Un tambor shime de taiko hecho de latón, corian y cristal. Una raqueta de tenis con red de cristales, con un agujero en el medio. Una canasta de baloncesto lejos de la cancha. Un conjunto de bolas en forma de dodecaedro y bolos de boliche. Un par de cucharas en forma de X, que sostiene 2 huevos. Un aro de cobre y cristal. Estos objetos han sido restablecidos en el espacio y fueron seleccionados por la artista porque sus formas inducen usos muy dirigidos, muy específicos, que obligan a obedecer una especie de manual bien parametrizado y de consenso dudoso, y que requieren un ejercicio de uso muy asertivo.” - Galciani Neves
