Artwork Description
This project emerges from a conceptual exploration that culminates in lava as its central theme—a natural phenomenon of profound symbolic power, embodying both destruction and creation. The resulting piece, a sculptural chair, materializes this narrative through a handmade tufted textile, whose textures and warm tones of orange and red evoke the incandescent flow of magma. Its structure features a hand-carved wooden leg, representing the earth shaped by lava, providing balance and contrast to the composition. More than a functional object, this chair is a work of art that engages with the transformative forces of nature, inviting an aesthetic and sensory experience that intertwines material, form, and symbolism.
