Galería Heinrich Ehrhardt was founded in Madrid in 1980, developing a programme focusing on post-war German artists. In 1985, the gallery changed its location and name, moving to Frankfurt.
Since moving back to Madrid in 1998, the list of artists represented increased to include names from different generations that involved the whole European painting scene of the 80’s, 90’s and first decades of the new century. Some years later, after the incorporation of Pablo Flórez as director of the gallery in 2009, the new Spanish and Portuguese art scene began to form a key part of the gallery's programming.
From 2022, the gallery has been renamed Galería Ehrhardt Flórez as a result of the incorporation of its director, Pablo Flórez, as the new owner. The gallery now, while maintaining its previous programme and history, presents a combination of new generations and schools as a fundamental part of the gallery's activity. Together with all the historical names such as Thilo Heinzmann, André Butzer, Helmut Dorner, Herbert Brandl, Otto Zitko or Ulrich Rückriem, the gallery has managed to position itself as a platform for the production of genuine and influential artistic proposals in Spain.
Thus, the gallery have included in these recent years artists such as: Julia Spínola, June Crespo, Laia Estruch, the Estate of Luis Claramunt, Fernando García, Mauro Cerqueira, David Bestué, Guillermo Pfaff, Kiko Pérez, Rosa Tharrats, Gonçalo Sena, Peppi Bottrop or Jan Zöller that now mark the present and the future of the gallery.
